Overall well-maintained hotel, outstanding meals.
Amazing beachfront location, so close to the center of town, along the coast as well as Portofino or Rapallo. Also, in front of the beach;))

the hotel was wonderful relaxing and spotless, had great views of the hills & downtown. the guest room was perfect, it included central heating, an individual safe, and multi-channel television. the location turned out to be magnificent and stunning, short walk to the downtown and the centre of town station and the center of town, along the coast. furthermore, to portofino by car or ferry.
No negatives from this place.

Had a wonderful stay on this last visit, no reason to complain. Everything was lovely, including reasonably good and very attentive staff.
The hotel staff was not very friendly.

The good stuff about staying here is that you've got a super cool location with parking right on the property. Inside, the rooms are really nicely done up and have everything you need, including a killer view of the sea! 🌊

the metropole was a gem in santa margherita ligure! excellent location, friendly staff, and beautifully maintained public areas. angelo at reception was a pleasure to deal with, providing helpful recommendations for dinner. overall, an escape from the chaos of cities that exceeded my expectations.
No real room service.

Very helpful friendly staff from the point we checked in. Lovely room (408) in the separate block overlooking the sea. Went to sleep with the sound of the water. Will definitely come back.
My wife is an international house and hotel colour consultant and decorator. Her comment regarding the outside terrace dining area is that the apricot tablecloths clashed badly with the beautiful purple display of bourganvillia. She suggests white tableclothes would be much more tasteful and elegant.

Wow, what a value for my money! The room was cozy and had a lovely view from the balcony. The location was perfect, just a short walk to the beach and a quick drive or ferry ride to Portofino. The staff at Metropole were so friendly and attentive, making our stay even more enjoyable.
One small thing that could have made breakfast even better would be more variety in the hot food options.

I loved the location, gently elevated by the sea & lovely terrace to sunbathe and wonderful views of the bay. The pool was beautiful & I liked its slight seclusion betwen hotel and sea. The gardens were immaculate and wonderful to stroll through down to the sea. Hotel is opposite end of Santa Margherita to Marina, but its a five minute stroll into the town with its selection of shops, bars and restaurants. Delightful setting.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel in Santa Margherita Ligure. The location was perfect, just outside the bustling downtown area and close to the train station. This made it convenient for exploring the town and also for taking day trips to nearby cities. The hotel itself was clean and well-maintained, with a touch of old-world elegance. The staff were friendly and attentive, providing excellent service throughout my stay. The breakfast spread was delicious, offering a great variety of Italian pastries and cakes to start the day off right. the hotel facilities, including the indoor and outdoor pools, were top-notch and added an extra level of convenience and luxury to my stay.
Could not be improved in any way.

a very comfortable and attractive hotel in nice grounds. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was quite good but we didn't eat there. in the evening so can't comment on the standard of meals. The location is very convenient as it is so near the station which makes the transfer from Genoa easy. Santa Margherita itself is very pretty and has some good restaurants. There are ferries and buses to the nearby resorts as well as trains for further afield.
Along with I'm sure other hotels in the area there was no lifeguard for the pool so it wasn't possible to use it at the time of year we went. I imagine like everywhere else in the area the season doesn't really seem to get going til July. A pity as it was hot enough when we were there.
